deep in Canadian history, you'll find a wealth of Canadian
culture to explore.
Step back in time through the Ermatinger Clergue Heritage
Site and the Sault Ste. Marie Museum. See the home of
the oldest continuous non-commercial flying service
in the world at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre.
Learn of Canada's roots at the Sault Canal National
Historic site, hear tales of Canada's fathers of industry
and the enterprises they spawned including Great Lakes
Power, St. Mary's Paper, and Algoma Steel.
Outdoor
Activities
In
the winter, cross-country skiers and snowshoers can
explore Stokely Creek, a winter paradise of over 120
km of well marked trails making it one of the four largest
cross country ski destinations in North America.
Spring, Summer and Fall offer a wide range of activities
including canoe and paddling adventures following historic
waterways, scenic hiking trails, garden strolls, scenic
boardwalks and lock tours and boat cruises.
The
Arts
Sault-Ste.
Marie offers up first class entertainment through its
Arts & Culture community. Painting, theatre, dance,
clay, textiles and music are located right in the city.
